Little known fact: when Choose Your Own Adventure® was originally published by Bantam Books in 1979, sales for the first six months were only “so-so”. Then some smart person in Bantam marketing decided to seed libraries nationwide with 100,000 free giveaway copies of CYOA. The rest, as they say, is history. Over the next 20 years, more than 200 million copies were sold worldwide.
